For the floating ring, The weight of the floating ring is small, and the air film generated in the floating ring and the shaft gap when the shaft rotates can lift the floating ring, and the shaft is relatively fixed. According to the bearing oil film principle, if the floating ring and the shaft are completely concentric, the buoyancy of the air film will not occur. Under normal working conditions, the floating ring and the shaft (or bushing) are basically in non-contact state, and a circular small groove is formed in the inner surface of each carbon ring.
